Stanwood opened its season with a thrilling 34–27 victory over Edmonds-Woodway. Alex Maldonado started the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown scramble, while the Spartans’ defense forced three Warriors turnovers. Stanwood’s next game is against the Cascade Bruins.
