The Tigers top the Bulldogs and Win Battle of the Bridge 35-28

Brody Jacobs returned the opening kickoff for a Burlington-Edison touchdown, helping the Tigers hold off visiting Mount Vernon 35-28 in Friday night’s non-league Battle of the Bridge. Burlington-Edison led 21-14 at halftime and extended its advantage to 28-14 after three quarters. Mount Vernon scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, but Tigers quarterback Van Pelt scored on a fourth-and-1 keeper late in the game to seal the victory.

Burlington-Edison improved to 1-1 and will visit Squalicum on Friday, September 18. Mount Vernon fell to 0-2 and will travel to face Shorewood that same evening.
