Bode Webb scores on a RBI single hit by Kaiden Anderson

In the latest installment of the “Battle of the Bridge,” Mount Vernon High School’s baseball team shut out Burlington-Edison 2-0 on Friday in Northwest Conference action.

Bulldogs pitcher Connor Swanson delivered a dominant performance, tossing a three-hit complete-game shutout. The junior allowed just one walk while striking out six.

Mount Vernon got on the board in the second inning when Kaiden Anderson drove in a run with a single. Brady Peterson added an insurance run in the fourth inning.

Baird Brewer led the Bulldogs at the plate, finishing 2-for-4.
