Bulldogs Strike Early, Rindal Shuts Down Seahawks in 2–0 Win
The Mount Vernon Bulldogs earned a strong Northwest Conference victory over the Anacortes Seahawks, taking control early and never looking back in a 2–0 win.
The Bulldogs wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first inning. After setting the tone offensively, Mount Vernon struck for both of its runs in the opening frame. Reece Roberts delivered the big hit with a home run to give the Bulldogs an early boost, and Baird Brewer added a sacrifice fly to bring in the second run, putting Mount Vernon firmly in control from the start.
Roberts had a standout performance at the plate, finishing a perfect 3-for-3, consistently putting pressure on the Seahawks’ defense and helping keep the offense moving throughout the game.
On the mound, Mount Vernon’s pitching was just as impressive. Gunnar Rindal turned in a dominant outing, throwing six shutout innings against the Anacortes lineup. He limited the Seahawks to just two hits while issuing three walks and striking out six, effectively shutting down any scoring opportunities and maintaining the Bulldogs’ early lead.
With timely hitting in the first inning and a strong, steady performance from Rindal on the mound, the Bulldogs controlled the pace of the game from start to finish to secure the conference win over the Seahawks.
