Spartans Dominate Chargers in 42-0 Shutout Victory

MARYSVILLE — The Stanwood Spartans delivered a dominant all-around performance Friday night, shutting out Marysville Getchell 42-0 in Wesco 3A North action.

Quarterback Alex Maldonado led the way, rushing for two touchdowns and throwing an 18-yard scoring pass to Preston Turner. Maldonado also connected on a 55-yard strike to Brenner Perry, setting up another Stanwood score.

Eben Bland Jr. powered in for Stanwood’s second touchdown of the night, extending the lead to 13-0 in the first half. From there, the Spartans never looked back, piling up points behind a balanced attack and a relentless defense.

Stanwood’s defense was impenetrable, forcing multiple punts and keeping the Chargers’ offense bottled up all game. It was the Spartans’ second shutout of the season, underscoring their physical play and disciplined execution on both sides of the ball.

With the win, Stanwood improves to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in league, staying firmly in the hunt near the top of the Wesco 3A North standings.
