Stanwood Edges Monroe in Five-Set Thriller

STANWOOD — The Spartans (8-1 overall, 6-0 league) outlasted the Bearcats (9-1, 5-1) in a five-set thriller — 25-14, 20-25, 25-19, 21-25, 15-12 — to remain atop the league standings.

Whitney Longspaugh powered the offense with 28 kills, while Addison Bowie contributed 43 assists and eight digs. Harper Neyens added 10 kills and 14 digs, joining Longspaugh as one of two Spartans with double-digit totals in both categories.

For Monroe, Shannara Peebles had 23 kills and 13 digs, while Maddie Walker led all players with 24 digs. Avery Ray added 21 assists in the loss.
