Stanwood battles back but falls 64-57 to Everett

tanwood showed fight down the stretch, but an early deficit proved too much to overcome in a 64-57 loss to Everett on Tuesday night.

The Spartans fell behind 17-8 after the first quarter and spent the rest of the game trying to claw back. Jayden Abell led Stanwood with 18 points, attacking the glass and converting key baskets to keep the Spartans within reach. Rece Green added 17 points, scoring repeatedly through traffic and along the baseline to spark multiple rallies.

Each time Stanwood threatened to close the gap, Everett responded behind Noah Owens, who finished with 17 points and eight assists while controlling the pace for the Seagulls (10-7, 4-2).

Stanwood cut the margin to single digits late, but couldn’t fully erase the early hole despite strong defensive effort and improved ball movement over the final three quarters.
