Sedro-Woolley Tops Stanwood 34-20
Sedro-Woolley 34, Stanwood 20
SEDRO-WOOLLEY — The Cubs made a statement in their league opener, taking down 10th-ranked Stanwood behind a dominant night from quarterback Cliff Tadema and a relentless defensive effort.
Tadema completed 17 of 24 passes for 213 yards and five touchdowns, spreading the ball around to multiple receivers and keeping the Spartan defense on its heels all game.
The Sedro-Woolley defense also set the tone early, forcing two key turnovers that the Cubs quickly turned into touchdowns. That momentum swing helped Sedro-Woolley control field position throughout the night, giving Tadema and the offense short fields to work with.
Stanwood (1-1 overall, 0-1 league) struggled to find rhythm against the Cubs’ pressure and couldn’t fully recover from the early deficit.
